How do I get started with
a web site?
Visit web sites to find
ones you like and don't like. Pay attention to
colors, style and "busy-ness" of the
pages. Gather your logo file, pictures and
literature with information you want to
include. Identify the demographics of your
target customer. Determine the goal of your
site - is it to educate, motivate or get
people to contact you?
How quickly can you
develop the site?
Sites can be developed in as little as a
week if the information is all concise and
straight forward. More typical is 90 days
to allow for proofing and feedback.
What will be my expense?
First of all, you'll have to register a
domain name and sign up for domain name web
hosting with an internet provider. We
recommend
Godaddy
and Wowrack.
Expect to pay $70 for the domain name
registration and $50 for the initial sign-up
fee. Monthly fees should cost $9.99. WbW fees are
simple. A web site will cost $1,800. If there
is extensive image work or databases involved,
the cost could be more. After the initial site is
up, how do I maintain it?
You have two options. You can either work
with WbW and pay an hourly fee to make
changes. Or, you can learn the Microsoft
Frontpage software and maintain it in-house.
